Husband Selling House Before Divorce Has Started

Any advice on my situation would be great. I've been separated from my husband for two years. But we were civilly cohabitating. Since our house was paid off, to save money. He claims he sold the house and signed the deed over as of yesterday. (The deed was in his name) but we have to be moved out within two weeks. He swears he's going to split the money with me. But They won't give him the money until we are out. He plans on moving out of state with his girlfriend, and has packed most of his stuff and stored it. I haven't started packing mine yet. I don't have enough money for a place to rent without the house being sold. Is it even legal for him to sell it without going through the divorce and lawyers yet? I can barely afford a lawyer as he's supported me paying most bills, but I am trying to get a consultation this upcoming week.
