I Am Filing Online To Take My Former Landlord To Small Claims Court In Tx. Procedure/remedies?

Keep in mind I’ve never been or taken to court before, so please forgive me if this is an ignorant post.

To elaborate, my landlord has not paid back my security deposit after 30 days (it’s been 3 months) and still hasn’t done so/provided proof of payment after I sent a formal intent to sue letter, so I’m taking them to small claims court. I’m filing online using efile tx.

When I file, it asks me to select all procedure/remedies that apply. I’m not entirely sure what applies to my situation other than arbitration, or which routes are best. Or if any are required. I know under Texas law I am able to acquire 3x the amount promised. I’ve been trying to do research, look at the law and my lease, but still confused.

What is best and why?

(Also, must I sue the company that owns the property, or an individual?)
