I Bought A “new” Car, But The Carfax Showed It Was Previously Sold.

I purchased a brand-new electric car from a dealership in another state on 11/27/2024 and picked it up yesterday. On my way home, I received a notification indicating that the battery coolant needed to be refilled. When I checked under the hood, the coolant reservoir was empty. Concerned, I stopped at another dealership, purchased coolant, and refilled it.

However, when I arrived at a charging station later, I noticed the coolant was missing again. After 10–20 minutes charging, the car displayed an EV system warning message.

Upon arriving home, I checked the Carfax report and discovered that the vehicle had been sold to another person on 08/23/2024. The report states:

- 08/23/2024: Vehicle sold, purchase reported, and registration issued/renewed. First owner reported; titled/registered as a personal vehicle.

- 11/07/2024: Vehicle serviced—maintenance inspection completed, battery replaced, and drive belts checked.

- 11/27/2024: Vehicle sold (to me).

I contacted the dealership manager, who explained that the vehicle had been sold to a previous buyer but returned due to a financial approval issue. However, I reviewed my paperwork, and I signed a contract for a new car, not a used or returned vehicle.

I am seeking advice on how to address this situation. The car has significant issues (coolant loss and EV system warnings) and was sold as "new" despite its prior sale and service history. What are my rights, and how should I proceed?

Thanks
