I Got Into A Car Accident While Driving Alone With Just My Farmers Permit. (mn)

I got into an accident with another driver, thankfully he is okay and it was only him in the car. I am also okay, but I'm 15 with just my farmers permit- which I had to take my drivers test for so now when I turn 16 I can go to the DMV and just walk in to get my new license.

I was driving on a gravel road and a stop sign was approaching and there were headlights coming from my left. I began to slow down with my brakes before I slammed on them because there was ice on the road. The car didn't stop fully but continued on the momentum. I turned my wheels to the right as I attempted to turn in front of the oncoming car so they could swerve to the next lane- though at the time my thoughts were all over the place so I'm not sure what this would've solved.

I passed the stop sign and my tires gained traction right before I went into the ditch on the other side of the road and my car fully turned straight on the left side of the highway. The truck that was coming saw that I had lost control and also happened to try to go to the left lane to miss me but ended up hitting the right side of my SUV.

No other cars were on the highway but us, thank god, so I put my car in park as I'm still on the wrong side of the road and tried to assess the other driver's damage. He attempted to drive but his tire was almost completely sideways and was pretty banged up on the front of the drivers side. My car wasn't nearly as bad but it wasn't just a bump either.

I signaled for him to roll his window down and I apologized and asked if he was okay. He was all good and asked if I had insurance. We talked for a bit more as we tried to wrap our heads around this. He asked if I could give him a ride to where he was heading so he got in. I apologized so many times and he just said "As long as we're both okay that's all that matters, that's what insurance is for."

It was way too cold out at the time, and 11:20ish at night. I believe for a farmers permit in Minnesota you can only drive during daylight hours, or like 5am-9pm. The guy said he would call me the next day and we can figure it out then. Before we said goodbye, I got out of my car at the same time as he did to check my damages and I began to cry.

He said it'll be okay since we're both fine and insurance will cover the damages. Along with that, he just said to text him when I get home and to be safe.

So- what penalties can I face? Or how would I go about this?

Technically, I did pass my drivers test and I have a farmers permit which allows me to drive alone, though only for farm related purposes. I'm not sure what will happen. HELP!
