I Had Dentist Work Done Over A Year Ago And Paid Off The Entire Bill They Told Me I Owed The Day The Procedure Was Done. Now They're Trying To Charge Me More Money, Is This Legal?

I'm a man from Oklahoma and now coming up on over a year and a half later I had dental work done by a dentist office in my town. When I first went in and had everything set up I gave them my insurance and asked them to see if my insurance would cover the procedure and they came back and said that my insurance agreed and they would cover the charges.

Now a little over a year later they're sending me bills in the mail and continue to say that I had gone over my premium and that the insurance wouldn't pay their part and that I'm responsible for it. I asked the lady why they didn't contact me sooner about it and she told me that it was because I never came in for a checkup and they never looked at my account which seems shady to me. On top of the fact that they've yet to properly identify the procedure that had been done saying that it was for a filling or for my bottom wisdom teeth removal when it was for my uppers. I don't know what I should do about this but at some point someone had to have lied about something because if my insurance wouldn't have okayed the procedure I would have never done it in the first place and it's just slowly getting more and more aggravating.
