I Left A Hair In A Man’s Car And It Ended His Marriage And He’s Trying To Sue.
Not sure how to even approach this. I’m a 23 year old woman and I work at a family owned body shop. I love my job and I am very good at it . I have super long dark black hair. Anyways. I was working on a car, not saying what kind but it was over 150,000. I was putting a door panel back together but I was inside the car sitting on the seat and I’m guessing a hair or 2 hit the passenger seat.
The guy that owns the car seemed like a jack ass, entitled, and ignorant. His wife never came in but I heard through the grapevine she’s like super model pretty (blonde) and way younger than him. Anyways upon taking the car how she found the hairs, I’m not sure how they didn’t immediately put together that there car was worked on and maybe an employee (me) left it in there?
He came back a couple months later. At this point I’m assume the divorce is over which is why he is trying to sue. I normally stay away from the office so customers don’t really know that I’m back there. some how some way, I needed something out of the office as he was in there and at he managed to put together that I (the one with long black hair) left the hair in his car. He grabbed his car a couple days later before any services could be done and that’s the last we heard of him.
Today my boss got served with papers, I really don’t know anything past that other than he’s suing him, that’s all my boss told me. Should I quit? Am i protected? Is this something you can sue over? I don’t even know if I’m allowed to be writing about this I know NOTHING about law. Any advice would help so much I’m really anxious about having to leave this shop or getting involved into something that isn’t really my fault I was just doing my job.
The guy who owns the shop can’t really afford help he’s just a 70 year old man and leaving unless I have to would break my heart. The thought of him getting in legal trouble he can’t afford would tank his company
