I Think My Manager Is Retaliating Against Me. Help?
Hey there, I’m in a bit of a bind and I’m not sure what my manager is doing. I work for a mid size-ish company, and have been there for about 3 years. I joined a smaller team, and thought I could do the job. Turns out it’s not a good fit for me at all, and clearly my manager and I aren’t seeing eye-to-eye.
Despite all the regular meetings regarding my performance and me trying my best my manager is making me sign an “employee statement form” regarding my performance where I was told to talk about how I fucked up, how I will go about fixing my performance, and and why I fucked up. The paper was blank minus my name, manager’s name, my position, and spots for myself and HR to sign it.
I have no write ups at work, no attendance issues that weren’t goof ups from HR, and no other performance issues. The reason why I feel like this is retaliation is because I recently had an interview to return to a prior department I worked in and this just came up today. My manager’s instructions were super unclear and they were never direct. For my own safety I’m not listing the company name or what my manager age/gender is.
Could someone give me guidance on how to go about this? My job is trying to lay people off too and this all feels very strange. This is all in Florida.
