I Think Someone Has It Out For Me? Any Legal Advice For This Situation?
So a month ago, it was brought to my attention that someone not only sent illicit photos of me to my employer (a hospital), but they also filed a report with my employer containing objectively false allegations about me. There was no way to prove that nothing actually happened and that this report was a lie, and the company has to protect their reputation, so it led to me resigning from my job.
Fast forward a month. I've been getting texts all week from unknown numbers asking for my "services" and one of them said they were "responding" to the "ad" I posted, to which I said EXCUSE ME? Because I did not post any ad. I asked him to send me a screenshot of it, and he did, so I was able to find the posting.
I've emailed the website support team asking them to take the ad down, explaining that my phone number was posted to their website without my consent. There is no way that these two events are NOT connected. I need to change my phone number today. I am lowkey scared for my life. I don't really know what to do. There's been character defamation, and now I'm basically being doxxed and misrepresented online.
Legally, is there anything I can do?
