I Tried Purchasing A Car And Now I'm Out 1000 Dollars
On January 11th I attempted to purchase a car from Carvana in texas I made it all the way to purchasing the car and even had the delivery day set. Once the order was processing and all the appropriate documents were filed, they said I had to get car insurance for it to even be delivered. So I went ahead and purchased insurance that is $300 a month, as well as providing proof that I had it. It wasn't until the 13th that I found out I was unable to purchase the car because my phone was a prepaid phone.that same day they took out my down payment of $780, it seems like I shouldn't have been able to make it this far into the process, or at the very least there should be a statement saying prepaid phones won't work, and that was never there. This same phone number was used to verify my Carvana account. I wouldn't have gone through Carvana if I knew that a prepaid phone line is not acceptable. Now I'm out 1000 dollars and with no car, because they failed to inform that a prepaid number wouldn't work. Am I crazy for thinking that I shouldn't have been allowed to get that far to the point that they could take the down payment. Is there anything I could legally do because I know I'm not the only person who has had this issue with Carvana before?
TLDR Paid down-payment even got car insurance after I was approved to get the car, after all this order was canceled due to prepaid phone line Is this legal?
