I Was Fired From My Internship For Being Assaulted

As a Social Work student at Boise State University in Idaho, I am expected to complete a total of 480 hours of field work. I accepted a placement at a homeless shelter in the city, where I was expected to do case management and evening shifts. On October 20th of 2024, I was s*xually assaulted by one of the guests. I immediately reported it to Boise State. However, the Social Work program did not report it to the Title IX office as they were supposed to. Following the incident, I experienced gender and race specific microaggressions from the director of the shelter, falsified reports of "declines in my performance", as well as refusals to take accountability for the incident itself. This inevitably resulted in my termination from the agency. I do believe it was a result of retaliation. This especially because after my termination, they logged into my email and deleted every correspondence in relation to my sexual assault and the perpetrator. The Title IX office confirmed that they never heard from the BSW program in October. Because of my termination, I will not graduate on time in May of this year, and because I am completely reliant on financial aid, I will be unable to afford the cost of repeating my senior year. I need advice on what kind of action I should be taking. Do I file for legal action against the shelter for wrongful termination? Do I file against the school for their negligence? Either way, I've worked really hard to graduate on time, magna cum laude. It feels incredibly unfair that my entire college career be completely derailed because I was assaulted.
