I Was Sent Goods I Didn't Order

Card image cap

I am a one man shop electrical contractor.

Today I received a package with cheap drill bits from Ace Industrial Supply. I have never heard or interacted with them in the past. There was included invoice for the amount of over $700. It said that need to pay by last week or I will be charged interest of 1.5% after 30 days.

It looks like they obtained my business and personal info from a Labor and Industries site. They used my phone number as my account number in their system.

I immediately called them and let them know that I never ordered anything from them. I offered to return their package if they provide a return shipping label.

However, I was told that some return form has to be filled first and their sales department has to gather some information from me. They supposed to call me withing a couple of days. Otherwise I am free to pay for return shipping myself.

I said I do not want to invest any time in this obvious scam and unless they make it easy and provide a shipping label, I will throw their package in the trash.

The angry lady said that they have a record of me authorizing this order through a text message and if I don't return the package or pay the invoice, they will send my account to collections.

I went online and checked their reviews. From the reviews that I read, they are definitely some predatory scammers and I am just one of the many victims.

Like I said, i never opened any accounts with them and all they have is my company info from a public site.

Can they cause any legal troubles for me if I just ignore them and throw away the crap that they sent me?

Btw I just filled a complaint with BBB regard their practices
