Illegal Entry By Landlord

This is in central New York. Our building was sold today and two men who claimed to be the new owners entered our apartment illegally today after being told twice not to enter. He then yelled and berated my wife for there being laundry that needed to be done on the floor and that the building had flies because of us (there were dead flies on a fly trap). He threatened us with eviction. My wife was alone at the time and this has caused a lot of distress (two large men forcing their way in and yelling at her while she was alone).

Do we have a case if we seek a lawyer to at minimum terminate the lease and if so should we file a police report?
