Injured In Hotel Abroad

Myself and my husband went on holidays in Spain. We had been out for dinner and drinks and returned home at about 1am. My husband wears contact lenses and was leaning on the edge of the sink when the sink came off the wall and cracked, and cut open his hand.
We rushed to reception as his hand was pumping blood everywhere, the reception were shocked and told us to go get an uber around the corner, they were more focused and worried about the broken sink?
We had a terrible time at the hospital, as we don’t speak the language so could gauge what was wrong with the hand. There was some nerve damage but they didn’t want to try fix it so stitched it up and told us to return home to see a hand surgeon.
When we returned to the hotel 12 hours later, they had given us a new room to have a sleep. An hour after the room phone rings and it’s the front desk manager rang with not much empathy and said they had someone into the room viewing the sink and that a heavy weight clearly broke the sink so we need to pay for it. When we replied with shock, that the sink was stuck to the wall with silicone and a child could have broken it, she said we either pay for it, pay for the new room or leave. She said the room with the broken sink is booked the day we leave so they are minus a room also (I checked on the website and that is not the case). When we said we would leave then, she said the hotel chain legal team would be onto us and that she has on camera that we were drunk returning back. We were absolutely distraught from what had happened already, and felt like the front desk manager belittled us, made our situation go from bad to worse, and kicked us out through blackmail when we were at our lowest.
We then had to fly home early, and we have spent 4 days at hospital appointments and a surgery yesterday to fix his hand(2 tendons cut and a nerve).
We are not bad people and were made to feel like scumbags who trashed a room when that’s not the case. We are 2 very hard working respectable people who had a freak accident at this hotel.
Do we have a case? We would never have made a claim but now that the dust has settled, we can’t believe how it was handled. Not even providing first aid when it happened and making us get an uber. We have picture of the sink broken and the sink in the new room they gave us and it’s very clear it’s poorly put together
