Is It Time To Go To The Police Or See What Happens On Feb 1st?
A 6th grader threw a rock through my rear windshield. I found out through other parents that told me who it was and other kids that were there. I told the police but told them I wanted to work with the parents and I'll contact him again if it doesn't go as planned.
I had to wait all day checking if she (the mom) was home a few times. We live in the same apartment complex. Finally at 6pm i knocked and could hear her inside. She didn't answer so I knocked like 6 times until she finally answered. Her son already told her what happened. She only offered at first for him to do chores. I don't want to have her son do chores for me, I have enough to deal with. After I mentioned the cost I was quoted (originally 390) I told her I'll work with her on a payment plan to chip away at it and she agreed. I even told her I'll call around to find the cheapest route.
Since then we've only talked over text this week and she's been pretty difficult.
The final plan is im getting charged 330 through a friend of a friend that owns a glass repair business. I told her she can just pay 300. And even 50 a month is fine. She agreed. When she wrote out the plan over text to start payments on feb 1st she stated "if held responsible" at the beginning. Keeps beating around the bush on a definitive statement. And has turned this far from civil saying I need to give her son chores and she needs advice on raising him. Says she'll talk to me In a min then didn't reply all night, only to say I'm blowing up her phone when I ask at noon today again for a definitive statement. Saying I'll hear from her on the 1st. I think drugs may be involved from what I've heard. Which may explain her erratic messages.
Im trying to do the right thing to a single mom. If I were in a better position financially I wouldn't even deal with all this, but at this point she's taking advantage of my kindness.
She has admitted he did it over text
