Is One Party Consent Valid If The Other Party Is In Another State?
Really dumb question but my management team is located in IL, and I work in a satellite office in TN. I know TN is a one party consent state for recording calls, but does it hold up if they’re in another state and I record the call? Manager in question has made it his life’s mission to lie and ruin my reputation within the company because I have challenged him (respectfully and professionally) multiple times for terrible decisions he’s attempted to make. The last time we spoke over a teams call about 2 months ago was explosive on both ends - I can only take being talked over and called a liar for so long, and we havent spoken since. I have my meeting for merit/compensation in February and want to make sure I record everything and feel like an idiot because I havent done so prior. Just want to make sure I’m not doing anything illegal by recording our call for my own job security.
