Laid Off And Ex-employer Won’t Provide Necessary Documents For Future Employment

Hi! Not sure if there is anything we can do legally for this, but looking for advice if so.

My gf was laid off almost two weeks ago now, and works in architecture. To apply for new jobs, almost every company requires you to submit a portfolio of projects you’ve worked on. My gf has plenty of great projects to show off…. but the ex-employer who did the lay off is becoming completely unresponsive. Gf put together a detailed list of 3-5 projects with the name, dates, and other specific details, to make it as easy on them as possible. Seems like it should be pretty simple to compile, like less than 30 minutes. They said they’d “get around to it” last week. My gf has texted and emailed multiple managers at the office every day since being laid off, and they have basically just stopped responding. She cannot apply to any of the jobs she wants because she has nothing to show for her work and companies won’t even accept applications without detailed portfolios.

Is there anything we can do to get the documents? Is there any legal pressure we can push on them? I’m thinking probably not… but we don’t know what to do now.
