Landlord Is Trying To Charge Me For Having 3 Adults In The House

Card image cap

She is claiming that corporate may charge us an extra $200 for there being a 3rd adult in our 2 bedroom house. All 3 of us signed the lease at the same time, our roommate did not move in before or after my fiance and I. This is what it says on the lease, it makes it sound like if there is an adult ADDED ON after the fact, then they will charge the $200.

“Any Lease additions must be approved by Landlord and subject to application fees and tenant screening. Upon completion of the screening and approval by landlord, a new 12-month lease agreement must be executed making all residents financially responsible and will include a monthly recurring charge of $200 per person per month for the person that has been added to the lease. Should any person move-in prior to approval from Landlord, this can be deemed a material breach of the lease covenants and may result in termination of the lease. Tenant will be assessed a fee of $500.00 per person / per occurrence.”
