Landlord’s House Burned Down In California Fire. Now Wants To Evict Us Immediately To Move Into This Property. Can They Do That?

So the California fires have taken out my landlord’s home and we live in a separate property belonging to the owner in a safe zone. However, he now wants to evict us immediately to move his family into the property.

Is this legal? Is there anything we can do?

EDIT: Good to lock this thread mods, feel like we got all the advice we need. Regardless of what happens, this sucks and we hope everyone affected gets taken care of for their losses. Hate to be a renter in this situation, but also glad not to lose my home in a fire. We’ll figure it out and be ok. Wishing everyone safety.
