Landlord Trying To Kick Our Cats Out With A 3 Day Notice.

So i'm decided this would probably better the best place to ask legal-wise to see what we can do about it and how we can fight this. I live in Oklahoma, so I moved here around 7-8 months ago to live with my girlfriend and her father-in-law. We found out the other day that our landlord is trying to sell the house we are in and that we don't have a yearly lease on this house. I assume we have month to month tenancy though, because we pay rent every month, $1675 to be exact. The landlord sent us a message today and told us that "the cats in the house have to be out by Tuesday so i can have a interior photographer come in and take pictures." That gives us three days to get our cats out and mine specifically, i've had for 8-9 years now. Is that legally allowed? Can he just up and tell us to get our cats out within a 3 day period? and if not, what can we do about it? We're looking for other places to go and he's not mentally well from what I understand, he went to jail not too long ago for setting someone on fire, so we're a little worried about what he will do if we don't get the cats out of there.
