Lawsuit Settled Months Ago, What's Taking So Long!?
I had a workplace dog bite case finally settle after damn near a decade of the defendants perjury and gaslighting.
My lawyer is top notch but pretty squirrelly and caught him in many lies he told me earlier in his counsel.
Case settled months ago but workers comp magically wants a chunk of settlement even though we closed everything out.
Last I knew 4 months ago we sent a letter to reduce the lien, sent follow ups and still "haven't heard anything back"....
Do lawyers lie or stall liens as a tactic to take more if I were to suggest getting everything over with right now?
(They actually mentioned it and I said no I'm not hurting for money even though I sort of am. Just not trying to make them think I'm desperate and I'm a sucker)
How might I be able to speed up the process and/or verify they are telling me the truth?
