Leo Ran Background.

My(28f) husband (27M) have been together for 4 years. My best friends, sisters Husband who we shall call “Bob”. Bob is a police officer for one of our cities. And he is one of those officers that allow the badge to go to his head.

Me and my husband were supposed to go to Bob house for Christmas. About a week ago now Bob searched up my husbands name and did a background check on him. My husband does have a past but nothing too serious. He has a theft from 10 years ago. A weed charge from 9/8 years ago and a DIU from 3 years ago. He does have active Warrants in another state that is non extraditable(VOP). Bob and his wife then called my best friend up to tell her me and my husband weren’t allowed to go to Christmas at their house due to him finding out and my best friend not telling them about my husbands past(like it’s any of their business) my question is—- can he just run a back ground check on my husband for no reason at all? And if not what can I do so he doesn’t do this again? My best friends family has all told me that Bob runs back grounds on everyone. Including their grandparents. All without permission or even telling said person he ran the back ground.

Prior to this we(all) have had no problems at all we would get together for family events and everything.
