Life Insurance During A Divorce (florida)

Hello, I have a question for any lawyers or divorce lawyers of Reddit. My parents are going through a divorce right now, and my mom informed me that her lawyer had told her my dad had requested that she purchase a life insurance policy and add him as the beneficiary. We spent some time trying to find exactly where this request was made on paper, but we can’t find it. How exactly would a request like this be made on paper (Like what would the wording sound like)? Another question I have is, is it even legal to request during a divorce? Wouldn’t a request like this set off an alarm to the lawyer drafting this request? I’m just curious and concerned for my mom’s safety. My dad is the kind of person to hire a hitman. I know that because he has done it in the past unsuccessfully, but it’s the thought that counts. As I said, I’m just curious, concerned, and seeking the vast knowledge of the people of Reddit.
