Loaned Money To Father In Law

This is the stupidest thing I have done, and I already know so please I don't need any judgement on it. I'm only seeking help/advice on what I should do.

So last year (2024) I came into some money and my father in law overheard my fiance and I talking about it and asked if we could all go to dinner to "talk". Well, at dinner he proposed a business opportunity. I invest either $65k or $75k in the business (he is already a licensed mechanic and has managed to run a mechanic shop by himself for the last 4+ years) , because I know he is licensed and I saw how he ran the shop where we lived before, I said I would think about it. I got the money beginning of July 2024, he asked me almost everyday until the end of July 2024 if I had made a decision yet & I kept telling him, no, don't push it or I will decline the offer. Come beginning of August my mother in law who we had lived with at the time was causing a lot of issues , we paid $1800 a month for rent + utilities and she'd always say we didn't regardless of us having proof of sending her the money... but we had other issues with her besides that like how she would talk to my kids when we were not around. Stupidly I made a decision to agree to make the investment in the company because my father in law made promises of it running great, we would work on certain vehicles and he had a "guaranteed" contract to make $1.5MIL a year, well fast forward to us finally moving down to FL, the first month of the shop running was SLOW. My fiance and I had to pick up side jobs just so we had income cause the shop wasn't making ANYTHING.

I have yet to see any of the money paid back, even the extra $1,500 I loaned so he could get a watch... (Yes I know..) . I had trusted him to talk to his attorney and get all the paperwork done for us on our agreement. To this day (Jan 17. 2025) no paperwork has been done! We had to move out cause he tried to assault me & my fiance because he has been lying to us & now he does not want to pay me back. I have text messages between us when he promised to pay me back weekly for the $1500 for the watch & where we spoke about the $65k for business purposes. I can also get proof of the cashiers check when I gave it to him, zelle payment for the watch. And I have witnesses (not just my fiance) who can agree that we had an agreement for him to pay me back regardless of what happens to the shop.

We are suppose to be selling it (NOTHING WAS PUT IN MY NAME INCASE THINGS WENT WRONG, BUT WHEN WE OPENED BUSINESS BANK WE SPOKE TO THE PEOPLE AT THE BANK AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE WHOLE THING AS WELL) he says next week of this month (Jan 20-24ish 2025) we should hear back from the guy buying it on how much he can get a loan to pay for it & then whatever he can pay on the shop my father in law will owe whatever is left...

what can I do if he doesn't pay me from the shop? like what would be my best course of action? we also had to call the cops when he tried to lay his hands on me & he assaulted my fiance for defending me (also have 2 witnesses to that)
