Massachusetts Wage Theft

I work for a small family owned company. Here there are drivers and a small staff of office ladies (3) I am one of them. Our handbook is geared toward the drivers. For years and years they only had 1 office lady. She’s gone now we have us 3. Since I started I have not once taken a lunch break by my choice and it was never an issue. I can take a quick smoke or walk around the building at my discretion and it’s never been an issue to snack at my desk- right next to the owner, I am her secretary. Well, since I started and the 2 other ladies we have had 2.5 hrs a week deducted from out pay. None of us take a lunch break none of us clock out for one but there it is. So we decided to finally say something and presented the bosses with a waiver. The ladies signed it and we got denied because “It’s our fault for not taking a break” and “you shouldn’t need to be micromanaged for taking lunch “ and my favorite “so you want me to pay you for a break?” I said no we just want to be paid for the break we are not taking! I said- my ass is in this chair from 7:45(usually) to about 4:15. My hours are 8-4. I work over 8hrs every day. I clock close to 42 hrs a week and only get paid for 7.5hrs per day or 38 ish hours a week She wrote it all down and then said so. You have to work 42 hours to get paid for 40? I said yes. I also said I worked the hours. You gave me when you hired me.
I have already called the Massachusetts Department Of Labor they told me to open a case, but I am still currently employed however, I did have two interviews and I’m hoping I will be able to leave here soon. However I am starting to worry that I may not have a case because lunch breaks were actually never discussed And I’m not going to work an extra half an hour just to take a half an hour break that they’re not gonna pay me for. I come from a restaurant background. I’ve never had a break. I don’t need one. I’m totally fine. This job is not demanding. Does anybody have any information or advice that can help me here because she doesn’t seem to want to understand the problem and as I understand, ignorance of the law is no reason to not know the law.
