Medical Provider Wants 1k 2 Years Later Because Old Work Is In Recievership
I worked for a company 2 years ago that is now on recievership. While working for them, I was covered under an employee provided health insurance plan. I incurred medical expenses at Beaumont in September and October 2022. They were covered by the insurance (cigna). I received a bill from the health care provider in November 2024. The Insurance company says the employer is in receivership and even though they cut the checks, they won't send them while in recievership Expenses have been approved, but checks are on hold. Beaumont states after 2 more monthly billing cycles, they will start the process to send to collections. I am no longer with this employer, but was paying health insurance premiums through payroll deduction during this time. The Employer termed with the insurance provider involved in July 2023. I am located in Michigan. I'm not sure where to go from here. I can't afford to pay it. Why is this coming up 2 years later? Am I responsible for it? I don't want it going to commenting. Any help is welcome. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
