Mom Was Fired And Accused Of Assaulting A Minor

My mother worked on a military base for their child development center. She had worked their for 6 years and has worked in childcare for over 20. A month ago, near the end of her workday she was brought in to the main office where she was told she would have to turn in all of her access cards and keys and was then escorted off base without any explanation. A close friend and coworker was in the main office when this happened and relayed to her that it was because another coworker reported her for raising her voice at a child. About a week later she gets a phone call and it's her manager explaining that it was due to security footage of her grabbing a child by the arm. The manager then gave her the option to resign or be fired and put her on administrative leave until the paperwork went through. A few more days go past and then she gos to a meeting with SF investigators who give her a citation for "assault on a minor under 16" and then push her on the subject. They tell her she threw a blanket at a sleeping child and then kicked its cot that it was on. She asked to finally see this footage that showed all of this and they told her they couldn't show her.

Now obviously I'm biased in favor of my mom, but I know for a fact she would never harm a child. Like I said, she's been in the career over 20 years, has a degree in early childhood development, and still has prior students and parents come visit her and send her cards every year for her birthday and Christmas. This whole situation has caused her a ton of stress to the point she had bags under her eyes for a week after from just crying. She may not have a good memory anymore, but she says she can't remember doing any of those things.

When they put her on administrative leave, they told her she would continue to receive her usual paycheck until the paperwork went through. The first paycheck was lower than her usual paycheck, then the last one she received was short almost 30%. She has no way to check her paystubs as they took her access cards that log her into those systems.

We already have a meeting with a criminal defense attorney. She has not have them an answer on resigning or being fired. I was wondering if there is anything else we should do?

Thanks!
