My (27m) Fiance (25f) Suddenly Decided To Move States And Leave Myself Alone With Our 5-year-old Son.

So we had our son back in 2019, and have had a mostly positive relationship. The past year or so she’s been acting weirdly distant, and suddenly she admitted she’s an “aromantic ace” or something like that. She has decided to move away across the country and leave me with our child so she can “find herself.”

She claims she intends to call daily and visit “whenever she can afford it.”

She also intends to “one year return to the state” to claim split custody of our son.

This is leaving me with the full amount of rent, full care of a child, and all the household responsibilities. I love my son and will certainly fight to be the best dad I possibly can, but I’m scared and uncertain of what steps to take. I don’t know what to do. I admittedly also don’t want to spend years acclimating to this scenario and bonding more with just my son, only to have her show back up and then have him bounce back and forth between two families, one of which is the woman who abandoned us. I’m sure that sounds horribly hateful and selfish, but I don’t view someone who would do this to her “loved ones” as a responsible/rational adult that should be allowed to watch this wonderful boy.

I really could use some advice.
