My Birth Certificate Doesn't Include My First Name

Hi there,
I'm 33 years old and live in Chicago, Illinois (been here my whole life). I just learned that my first name is not included on my birth certificate (my parents took a long time to name me). I have a drivers license, a US passport, and I'm even married with a marriage license. But my birth certificate only has my last name on it with some other demographic information. I have no idea how this happened.
I'm applying for an international passport which requires a birth certificate. I believe I need an addendum to my birth certificate to get my first name added, or something similar? I called the hospital I was born at and they told me to contact the courthouse. I am trying to do that.
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? This is not my area of expertise. Thanks
