My Boyfriend And His Coworkers Were Paid Less Than What Their Paystubs Said.

Card image cap

A month or so ago my boyfriend got his pay stub, he was expecting $1612.80 from his net pay line, he got $100 less than that, but a couple weeks before he got a $100 "Christmas bonus check" from his boss.

He did talk to his boss about it and he said that everything was correct except for the double payment (my bf had already brought that up to him and as far as I know it was resolved).

He's talked to another coworker and their paycheck was short by $300 from what their paystub ney pay said. Another coworker had said something along the lines of "well it's still a bonus" which we assume means this is a regular thing and he thinks it is the Christmas bonus without taxes. We are not sure if his paycheck was short of his paystubs netpay.

We are in Canada, Ab. We want to know if this is legal, illegal, and if it's something we need to take action for. I've been trying to say he needs to go to the labor board, but he isn't sure.
