My Car Insurance Won’t Let Me Remove Someone After They Accidentally Put Him On - Progressive

Hi there, I have been dealing with getting my boyfriend off my mom’s insurance for about two weeks now. He was mistakenly added due to an assumption that he lives with me ( which he doesn’t) and because of an Alexa mistake they said. My mom is the policy holder and has been on the phone with them multiple times for hours, and has talked to managers, but we are just getting the run around. They are requesting proof of address( which we gave them) and proof of insurance. My boyfriend doesn’t own a car or have car insurance, and they keep telling us we need to give them his insurance to get him off, even when we tell them this. Our rates have gone from 200$ to 380$ now and I’m at a loss of how to help my mom. Progressive only has his information due to an accident that my boyfriend and I were involved in (he was the driver). When I filed the claim they got his information from there and of course the claim department has been no help with this issue that was started from their department. I want to just get him car insurance for a month and then cancel it; but my fear is that they will file a claim under his potential car insurance because of the car accident. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
