My College Is F*cing Eveyone Over With Financial Aid.

Hi all, I am sure this is a tale as old as time but I am here to ask if there is anything we as a school can do. I go to a community college in FL, I have Bright Futures (a grant by the state that covers 75% of tuition and expenses) as well as a MyFloridaPrepaid (a system where you 'lock in' the rate of college in the year you were born and your parents make monthly payments to it so your college will be paid for). All of that to say, I shouldn't have to pay for school and quite frankly it is the only reason I am alive and am not swimming in debt, as I get back a good chunk of change each semester in disbursments.

Now, this semester and the previous, my college is absolutely wrecking everyone financially. We are promised we will get our disbursements a week or two after the beginning of the semester, however it has been 2 months now and we have seen no sight of them. This has led people to not be able to pay rent etc etc. This in itself is a fuck up however there is more!

Yesterday I received an email from the school stating I need to pay back over a thousand dollars in student aid (not loans) because they gave me too much the previous semester on accident. I and many others have been faced with this, and obviously everyone has spent the money already either on rent or groceries (that "overpayment" was made at the beginning of December). We are all at a loss for what to do, as no one has the money and these disbursements have not hit our account for this semester and quite frankly we do not know when they will come.

Any and all advice is welcome.
