My Dad Was Punched By His Supervisor. What Can We Do?

Long story short, my dad said he was dropping off a patient when his supervisor came at him, started yelling at him and getting too close. My dad said he started feeling trapped and wanted to get away from him so he moves his supervisor out the way and then he was punched by the supervisor. They sent my dad home for a week unpaid and the supervisor gets to stay. On top of this, my dad said his supervisor calls him dumbass instead of his name and constantly yells at him. What can I do for my dad? I feel like they’re taking advantage of the fact he doesn’t speak English well. Should he file a police report? This is in California.
