My Employer Laid Me Off With An Agreement Of Paying Me A Severance. The Agreement Also Said I Don’t Have To Repay Them Any Relocation Cost Or Sign On Bonus. I Haven’t Received My Severance Yet. Instead, I Received An Email Saying I Have To Repay Them The Relocation Costs.

I don’t want to give a lot of details away. I’m too scared and anxious in this moment. But as the title says, I feel like I am being played by my ex employer.

They handed me a severance document that stated all the details of my layoff including my severance pay and that I was also relieved of all my repayments. But just a few minutes ago I received an email asking me to repay all my relocation pay. And they haven’t paid me my severance either. The repayment amount is such that there is a real chance I could become homeless.

I don’t know how to proceed. And as of now I’m just thinking about getting in touch with a lawyer. It’s one of the biggest companies that exists.

Any advice is welcome.
