My Ex And I Signed A Car Loan Together, Can He Take The Car?

when we were still together, he signed for the loan and i cosigned for the car i have now. i was in a tight spot and really needed a car and didnt see things ending between us. we agreed before after a year or two of building my credit, id refinance the car under my name. it hasnt been a year and hes constantly texting me telling me to refinance the car, saying its going to prevent him for getting an apartment. he started asking for pictures of the odometer and mentioned that the cars in his name. ive paid for every insurance and loan payment as well as any maintenance the car has needed. im just worried hes going to try to take the car out from under me. can he do that? i wanted to wait to refinance until i know ill get approved, but i dont want to end up without a car.
