My Husband Lied About A Storage Payment Now My Sons And Mines Belongings Have Been Auctioned Off

My husband and I moved across the country leaving most of our belongings in storage until we could move them with us. We have a 3 year old and I just gave birth to our second child 2/12/2025. Unbeknownst to me he stopped paying for all of the storages months ago. I was just released from the hospital a few days ago after being diagnosed with preeclampsia among other injuries/many stitches from birthing our baby. When I arrived back home there was certified mail to him containing new keys to one of our storages. I have asked him relentlessly in the past to forward the bills/invoices of the storages and was met with his refusal to do so. So, of course, I was immediately worried when said keys arrived and demanded he send me the bills for the storages. Come to find out that we are about $1000 behind in payments to our 3 storages. One dating back to December. Upon further inspection the site that belongs to our storage has a photo posted of that unit specifically stating it was up for auction on 2/16/2025. The unit contains my possessions as well as documents, my iPad, Apple Watch, and most sentimentally my 3 year olds toys, documents, and some seasonal clothing. I’m devastated. Especially since this has been a point of contention between us for months now and lied saying we were only behind on one payment or another. Never mentioning that not only were they behind but had liens placed against.
Is there anything I can or should do to get my things back? The storages were closed today but I made three points of contact through voicemail, messaging and a message to their Facebook basically begging them to let me pay for the storage. I’m grasping at straws and trying to recover from having a baby while being quite ill but I have my mother here helping me through this. For reference, I am currently in Tennessee but all 3 storages are located in Colorado. I will answer any questions you have and any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
EDIT: I am leaving him and taking the children back to Colorado as soon as I am well enough to travel. I have a blood pressure appointment tomorrow 2/24/2025 and will hopefully be leaving in a couple of weeks. I am going to divorce him, rest assured. He has proven to be a pathological liar about many things and this is the final straw.
