My Kid Got Injured Before Her $2,000 Sport Even Started
I signed my daughter up for a travel volleyball league. Paid the $2,000 for her to join and everything was all set. However, right before her first practice, we were ice skating and she dislocated her knee and tore her mpfl in her knee which is going to require surgery. She hasn’t even started to play and there are no refunds. I’ve contacted the volleyball league about possibly getting a refund since she hasn’t even started or even maybe using the payments I made for next year since she should be healed by then. It’s not like she’s backing out of the sport or anything, she’s truly injured. They asked for a dr note which I provided. They also told me they cannot use my payments toward next year as the money is already allocated for this year. Is there any way around a no refund policy when it comes to injuries? Or am I just out the money?
