My (ny, Us) Ex (on, Canada) Used My Bank Card For Uber Rides
I contacted the bank as soon as I saw the charges. They've issued a new card and submitted a dispute thankfully, but I would like to pursue some sort of legal action, even if it's just to stop him from every trying to pull something like this again. It's not the first time it's happened. I know how he got my card info, I had forgotten to change the passwords on some of my shopping apps from the last time he did this and have since done so this morning. But he also has my account and routing number and enough info on me that if he really wanted to he could get into my shopping accounts to get a new card number. Unfortunately with the border it complicated things. It also doesn't help that Uber doesn't have a customer service number in the US or Canada outside of the one for drivers. When you call it it flat out says they're only providing customer service for drivers at this time). And chat help through the app is only given as an option for existing rides/Uber eats orders. Which, sidenote, is incredibly inaccessible and unhelpful and shouldn't be legal. Anyway, because of this I can't contact Uber for proof. And of I could, what would I legally do with it? Is there anything I can legally do here or am I SOL?
