My Private Company In California Has Been Paying Employees Incorrectly For Overtime For Years—- They Only Pay After You Make 40 Hours —- When In Fact It’s Everything Over 8 Hours.
Recently the hr guy(also in charge of payroll) because flustered and said “I will call infront of everyone to show you that I’ve been tallying hours correctly” he makes a conference call infront of all the employees and is told infront of everyone that he is wrong.
In addition to this for years all of us as employees have been told to report to him (by the director of the company) as HR—- who recently was outed as not having any HR experience —- and in fact having an entirely different job title.
Many private info has been revealed to him in confidence and under the assumption that he is HR.
My question is are there any laws prohibiting the impersonation of an HR employee.
And does this have any law suit implications —- or am I barking up the wrong tree despite feeling betrayed.
Thank you in advance for any help.
