Neighbor Wants Me To Move Water Meter And Line Which Is On Their Newly Acquired Property.

This is actually my father’s girlfriend but it’s easier to frame the question as me.

I sold some acreage which had a small guest house on it. There are two water meters side by side. One going to the house I sold and another going to my house. The new neighbor now wants me to move my meter up the road so the meter is not on their property and the line doesn’t cut across the corner of theirs. This was not discussed prior to the sell and no one thought to create a formal easement to account for this. Am I obligated to pay to have the water meter and line moved?
