On Going Estate Battle With My Mother And Brother. Am I Allowed To Keep My Portion Of The House My Dad Left Me?

My brother hired and paid for a lawyer to force me to sign over my share of a house my father put our names on the deed of my parents house, but is saying my mother has done all of this. My brother shelled out 7 grand for a lawyer.

they want to buy me out for 16k but I would just like to keep my share. I spoke to their lawyer today and he said if I wanted to keep my share it's up to my family to decide. They already have a court date set up for next week I wasn't aware of until yesterday.

Why is it up to my family to decide if I get to keep my share of the house my father put all our names on? I can't just keep it? The lawyer said he was going to call my family and ask my family about it and he never called me back.

My family and I haven't spoken in over a year due to this and other issues. My mother is very feeble since her stroke and I told the lawyer my brother is behind all of this and he doesn't get it. Can I just keep my share on the deed of the house?

My mother threatened to sue me for back rent and maintenance if I didn't sign it over. I told the lawyer my brother is the puppet master behind my mom and all of this and he's been living rent free by my mom in another house my grandmother had since 2007.
