Overtime Withheld And Then Fired For Asking
I worked for my tribe in Oklahoma and was called in on the weekend for an emergency, along with the entire crew. I had an app showing my hours and estimated pay and I could see my overtime hours disappearing daily up to payday. I questioned my boss and he said he didn't know. That was a lie as I hadn't received my ID yet and couldn't clock in myself, he was keying in my hours manually. I was also living in housing provided by my tribe and under my bosses jurisdiction. I was fired for made up reasons and my overtime was completely gone and then I was surprised with 2 home inspections in a week and there's only supposed to be one a month. I could not find a job afterwards and had to leave town as I was about to lose housing .I'm now homeless and destitute. What do I do? Are there any legal avenues I could pursue? I'm not the only one who's overtime disappeared or was severely reduced. Everyone else is afraid to lose their jobs because of its rural location and few other jobs in the area, severely affects people ability to speak out.
