Owner Of Workplace Locked Us Out Of Half Of The Building. Can We Do Anything About This?

Card image cap

The owner of where I work called a locksmith in the early hours of the morning and changed the locks on the garage portion of the business. This locked us and the contractors who are working on the building and storing their tools and materials there. This move could have potentially locked coworkers cars in the garage as well but luckily no one had their car in there. Is there any way we can actually get back in? Would calling a locksmith ourself be risky? Could the contractors do anything? Does suddenly changing locks like that while a third party contractor has their equipment in there some kind of crime?
