Parents Hit By Car Crossing The Street At A Crosswalk.
My mom (76) and dad (76) were crossing the street and were struck by a car making a left hand turn. They had a green light to cross and the car had a green light to make the left (not a green arrow) my dad was pushing my mother in a wheelchair as she is blind. The car struck my mother and my father caught more of a glancing blow. Father broke his big toe and has some extensive bruising on his hip and knee. Mother has now been in ICU for a month with 4 broken ribs. They had to do a tracheostomy for her breathing tube and put a feeding tube through her abdomen wall. What is the best way to go after the driver/ drivers insurance for a claim. We are looking at significant medical bills and she is going to have to be in a care facility for 3+ months plus rehabilitation to follow. Is their insurance going to cover all medical bills +pain and suffering? Hard to say but this trauma may take significant years off of her life. In colorado.
