Power Of Attorney My Mother Created Without My Knowledge Or Permission And Named Herself Attorney-in-fact Then Tricked Me To Sign The Poa
It should be easier to obtain assistance with something like this in Washington state. This is an extremely summarize version of my situation. My mother drafted a durable/general power of attorney completely behind my back, I had no part in the drafting of the document. I didn’t not need,or want a power of attorney. I am a healthy and sound minded 50 year old man, and run my own business. She brought the power of attorney to me when I was completely distracted with my business paperwork and going through a divorce at the time along with being a single father. My mother lied to me by telling me the POA was papers for a task at the Canadian border she offered to do for me. She had the POA open to the sign page and handed me a pen to sign. Her and her friend who was there both looked nervous at the time, I thought that was odd, but unfortunately I had total trust in my mother at the time. She totally hoodwinked me to sign it the POA she created under false pretences and duress. She named herself and my younger sister the attorneys in fact over me and giving themselves the power to appoint anyone they want to also be an attorney-in-fact over me and do whatever they want in my name, without even asking me. She will not tell me anything about the POA and would not let me even read it when I asked to read the border paperwork she had me sign. I found the POA and I have very nicely asked my mother many times about the details of the POA, why she did that and betrayed me by using my trust in her to take control of everything financially and real estate in my name. She will not tell me who helped her draft it, or any of the strange details of the POA. Like gifting a non citizen spouse in the amount I have previously been gifting, when I do not have a non citizen spouse? Details for me to give her my sister and anyone she sees fit to act in my name, giving her my rights to generational tax exemption? And the POA said exhibit A attached is an affidavit that states I am no longer able to handle my own affairs? This is obviously about something I did not know about but she did. I am completely healthy mentally and physically. She will not answer anything and now will not even talk to me because I am asking questions and found the POA she would not allow me to read. I have revoked it with revocation letters sent by certified mail but the POA states It must be revoked through the court. And I also found a notice of probate proceedings that I should have received with my name forged on the document. My mother will not tell me what she has used the power of attorney for. Can you please help out with what I should do. I have already spoken to many attorneys and other resources.
