Random Property Management Took Over My Electric Bill By Mistake [nm]

A couple months ago there was a power outage at my address, so I went onto the electric company's website to investigate and discovered my account was listed as "inactive." I contacted the electric company and was told that a property manager took over services at my address on 9/18. Confused, I called my landlord to ask if they took over utility payments and they said they didn't but would look into it. They called back and confirmed that another property manager accidentally took over services for my whole four-plex because they recently acquired ownership of a nearby property with an almost identical address. Landlord said she would try to get it straightened out but that I might just have to contact the electric company and switch it back over myself, either way she said she'd call back soon to let me know.

I waited a few weeks and did not hear back from my landlord, so I contacted the electric company and transferred it back to myself. There are no charges for the time period where my account was inactive.

My question is, who is responsible for that bill? I'm willing to pay it if the property manager comes asking for it I guess but do I have a legal obligation to do so? Am I OK to just forget about it unless someone contacts me? It's probably like $50 or less.
