Recently Bought A House And The Title Company States That I Owe Them $1600 Because Of An Error.

I bought a house in florida and closed in November. We had the sellers put up $9,000 seller credit for closing, and we ended up using most of it and using the last little bit(around $1400) to buy down our loan to a better rate. I think the sellers got a couple hundred back at the end.
We put down $3,000 for earnest and we received it back after closing. Now, almost 3 months later the title company is stating that we owe them $1,600 because of an error on the paperwork. They say the amount was place in an incorrect block(as a credit) instead of where ever it was supposed to be. However, everyone has already signed and we've closed.
Is this on us legally speaking? Or are they SOL if we refuse? If we do refuse, can they send it over to collections or to the courts and we'd be held liable that way? I know they have insurance for these types of situations, but are they trying to swindle it out of us before they go that route and someone being fired?
