Register A Birth Abroad In The Us

Hi Everyone First of all, Happy New Year

Here is our situation: I am a US citizen, as well as my husband. Currently in France for some family issues, I gave birth to my second son, and my husband is traveling back and forth to visit us.

I want to declare the birth to the US authorities, but the consulate in Paris is a 6h drive from us and it’s not always easy to get appointment when my husband is here

I wanted to know if there is some way my husband can register the birth in the USA, providing he has all the documents. We have a birth certificate in English (provided by the city clerk of the French city he was born) and I can send my ID copies and any notary form needed, so he can just go and register the birth.

We live in LA, and it would be easier for us to register the birth in the US than making the 6h drive, especially with an infant and a young kid.

Could you please advise if this is doable in our case?
