Repair Nightmare On Recent Purchased.

Card image cap

We closed on our new home November 1st. Per the contract and closing docs the roof was to be replaced. Money was put into an escrow repair account by sellers. Yes, ideally I would have preferred repairs been done before close. But previous homeowners were going through insurance so it was expected to take a bit.

2nd week of November, our agent sent me a text with roofing Co info. Said I needed to contact to confirm color and scheduling. Called, left vm. Texted, with my info and house /sellers info so they'd know what property. Never heard back.

3rd week November, our agent calls. Asks if the roof has been done. Um nope. I still haven't heard back from them about scheduling. Agent was perplexed, someone from the roof co was at the title co trying to get payment. Checked in with our agent week of Thanksgiving (monday) to see if anybody had been able to get ahold of this guy or what the deal was. She didn't know then, and I have gotten no update since.

At this point I don't know what we need to do. Was I wrong in assuming that because it was in the contract and funds in escrow there wouldn't be an issue? Where do we go from here?
