Repo Company Damaged My Property While Trying To Take Neighbors Car [nj]

Last night, a repo truck drove over my front yard and garden and damaged my property while trying to tow my neighbors car from the back of our shared driveway. I did not discover this until I was leaving for work.
The truck damaged my grass, garden with mature perennials, smashed a small retaining wall I had made, and left deep trenches in the gravel driveway. They were unable to get the car out and abandoned it on the driveway directly touching my car and blocking me from getting out. (The vehicle in question has sat dead at the back of the driveway for nearly a year and cannot be driven.) I ended up missing work today to deal with the fallout.
I documented all of this, filed a police report, and contacted the repo company who said they would get back to me within 30-60 days — totally unacceptable IMO. After reviewing their company reviews and other info online, I am not confident that they will do anything to rectify the situation or take responsibility.
What rights do I have in this situation? The police said it is a civil matter, but I have never dealt with something like this before and cannot afford a lawyer.
