Repo Company Lost My Belongings, Now They Want Me To Settle For $300—what Can I Do?
My car was repossessed on 9/11. A good Samaritan found my belongings scattered in a parking lot on 9/15 and called me. These were items that should have been in my car.
When I went to the repo lot on 9/17 to retrieve my personal belongings, they told me they had nothing. I contacted the company, and after months of back-and-forth emails, I felt like I was begging for answers.
Now, nearly four months later, they’re offering me $300 as a settlement—but my belongings were worth way more. I’m frustrated, confused, and not sure what to do next. Do I have any legal options here? Has anyone dealt with something similar?
